Been working hard on podcast and book. Recalling page numbers and specific quotes from scientific journals is key. Basically I'll go 'Good Will Hunting' on anyone who challenges me on low carb once I launch. How you like them apples?
When I see an overweight family with young kids I think 'Secondhand smoke will never even come close to the problem of secondhand obesity'
When I see an article about 'body positivity' I assume the processed food or pharmaceutical industry is behind getting that story out. Regarding body positivity, I am positive I don't want my body to be obese. Been there. No thanks.
To date, no study (observational or randomized trial) has demonstrated a significantly lower risk of cardiovascular events with lower sodium intake compared with average intake. Sodium is a distraction. Focus on sugar. I bet salt on egg yolks are good for the heart.
When reading a clinical trial for weight loss where people adhered to a diet/fitness program for say,12 weeks, I wonder what the weather was like for those 12 weeks. I bet that has an impact. Would be interesting to include this / I think we'd see warmer temp = more weight loss
Helping a guy who is getting to around 400 pounds. Its his first time in a gym. I told him everyone in the gym is thinking "Right on. Good for you." He walks 15min to/from gym. Has not missed a session. His family said he's happier now. Even without having french fries anymore.

Bottled water is about 2,000% higher in cost than tap. Takes 3x the water thats in the bottle to make the bottle. Bad for the environment. The plastics may have chemicals contributing to obesity and metabolic syndrome. Man, they do a good job of marking that stuff.
Diabetes Australia, Diabetes UK, Canadian Diabetes Association, American Diabetes Association in conjunction with European Association for Study of Diabetes all say low carb/keto is safe for 3 months. Soon it will be longer. Nothing to do with science. All politics.
In 1980 USDA published first modern food guide. It encouraged maintaining "an ideal weight" without saying what that weight is, other than you shouldn't weigh more than you did when you were 20. Gaining weight is common as you get older but not natural. Don't buy that myth.
A good way to protest high drug prices is to stop eating fast food.
For decades movies/tv had drowning in quicksand as very common. Then I found first ever accidental death on a movie set was drowning in quicksand and this may have had effect. Same approach to nutrition - when something is the way it is find the reason why/Likely not scientific

@T2DiabetesTruth Aside from discipline and exercise I think it gives them confidence, coordination and something they can develop proficiency/competency in. I think that it also forms strong positive bonds between the other kids which can turn into long time friends. It’s also a lot of fun.
Just talked to a client of mine who was pre-diabetic when we started, and he lost nearly 29 pounds in 12 weeks. No longer pre-diabetic. Love it
