If diabetes medications did not exist, would the advice remain to avoid fat and eat whole grains? If blood pressure medications did not exist, would the advice remain to avoid salt? One thing will become obvious immediately is that the advice above doesn’t work.

We need more “non-compliant” patients: patients that challenge the status quo, who want to fix the root of their health problems and refuse to be chronically sick and medicated.
Started working with guy for type 2 diabetes and hypertension. He’s on 10 medications and feels miserable. I stopped 3 unnecessary pills right off the bat. Many more will follow in the coming weeks as he cleans up his diet. The state of our healthcare system is embarrassing.
If you have high abdominal visceral fat (large belly circumference), you are NOT metabolically healthy. You’re more likely to have insulin resistance and chronic inflammation, which put you at risk for all types of diseases: metabolic, cardiovascular, and cancer.
The goal for type 2 diabetes management is drug-free REVERSAL through dietary changes. Anything short of that is suboptimal at best. A patient with type 2 diabetes maintaining HbA1C “at goal” is NOT a success and if it’s taking several drugs to do it, that’s an utter failure.

@ElieJarrougeMD Not to be picky but I rarely eat white table salt. Usually it’s Redmonds sea salt, Celtic sea salt or Himalayan salt. I get my iodine thru mostly sardines but also salmon, mackerel, halibut, etc. plus I use Nori or kelp on occasion. Bleached salt causes hormone disruption.
@ElieJarrougeMD We are built to survive and thrive. So any of the above could work. I don’t take any routine meds but I do eat whole grains and have for my entire life. I eat fat when in the fruit such as an avacado or fat in nuts/seeds and I mostly avoid seed oils/vegetable oils.
@ElieJarrougeMD I have listened to lectures, on YouTube, presented by Ivy League world-class physicians whose course of treatment for every ailment is what drug to prescribe. Extremely educated. But also extremely indoctrinated Too many doctors see prescriptions as the answer to every ailment.

@ElieJarrougeMD So true! My TG is 57 and my HDL is 81. But my total cholesterol is 279 and my LDL is 190. I'm sure once I take these results to a doctor, they will want me to start taking statins. But I know better. No thanks!
@ElieJarrougeMD Reading Dr Malcom Kendrick’s book “The Clot Thickens”. He explains clearly the effects of saturated fats on cholesterol and LDL and the misinformation that has existed for over 60 years. Also the effect of carbohydrates that convert into sugar and the effects on the liver.

@ElieJarrougeMD We don't need to believe anything just understand the chemical structure and instability of seed oils prone to oxidation. We don't want to mess with the polyunsaturated fat membrane of our cells with oxidized seed oils that are similar but slightly different and toxic.

@ElieJarrougeMD What if it’s just a question of oxidation. Probably the “bad oils” just become rancid quickly and that makes them worse.
