If you have diabetes then a reduced carb diet = a harm reduction protocol. Maybe if it was called that more healthcare professionals might be less ideologically opposed to it.

@thelowcarb_rd It might be an inevitable result of eating plants though. I raised Guinea Pigs for two periods of my life. Completely vegetarian animals and they all die from tumors in old age (7-9 years for the GPs)

@thelowcarb_rd @TuckerGoodrich A USA doc wrote a fascinating book c 100 yrs ago, incl his experiments feeding rats what they considered traditional national diets. He swore they developed national characteristics - I remember 'British' group fed bread and jam! Became rough coated & grumpy. Wish I still had it.
