For those wondering what is possible in 1 year with consistently following a training plan based on progressive overload, daily steps, and proper nutrition...Age 44 without ever really lifting weights to Age 45 now (217 workouts in). Not my best pic because just started a cut.
1 week into cut, really pleased with discipline on nutrition & steps, and no drop-off in lifts due to reduced calories (yet). Went from 199.9 to 190.4 - I'm sure a big chunk of that is water weight and adjusting to reduction in calories.

In the last ~7 months, I've gained 10 lbs of fat-free mass (mostly muscle) and 1 pound of fat according to bodpod. Pretty pleased with this!

I left the gym yesterday, and my wife was the only one there still. I got this photo from her later, rightfully annoyed that I left a 120lb db out 😳. She had to roll it back to where it goes. 😄
As I approach a full year of lifting weights routinely, I actually look forward to working out - with the exception of Bulgarian split squats. I will never look forward to these. I will always hate them with an intensely burning rage.
When I first tried dips 11 months ago, I could do 8 with no added weight. Just hit 8 with much better form with 90 lbs added.

You just reach a point where it's not even a difficult choice- "Just one little treat" is what pushed me to over 200 lbs. And it was NOT worth it.
@REV_Insulin_Res You’re exactly right. Not all calories are the same - some are loaded with nutrients and some aren’t, depending on the food you eat. Obviously, as you’ve stated. BUT, the only reason you lost body fat is because you were in a calorie deficit. Period.
