Basically every single tapering study that maintained exercise intensity and dropped volume sufficiently (~40-80% drop) for ~1-4 weeks has shown performance improvements. It's beyond reproach at this point.

Penix has legit health concerns, but another full season would go a long way toward assuaging those concerns. I was ridiculed last year for saying he was a guy who could go as early as the 1st/2nd round. If he repeats last year, he’s possible top half of the first round.
