Hi. I haven’t really been here much for a while. It’s been a bit of a torrid time. I was in hospital for 3 weeks in January & the bad depression that started in the Autumn just won’t shift. My life’s now a bit of a mess.. How are you all doing? Best wishes to all my friends here
It’s hard to try to be positive right now. I’ve been off work for 6 months & I appreciate that’s a serious situation. I’m the main earner with 2 young kids. Meds regime I was put on in hospital in January hasn’t worked.. Totally crippled by #depression, guilt & shame.. #bipolar

Anxiety makes it hard to enjoy anything You can’t relax Your mind is reminding you of all the bad things that could possibly happen It affects you physically & there is no simple solution for it it’s having something inside you that you don’t want but it won’t leave.
Depression isn’t an act Bipolar aren’t phases Suicide isn’t a cowards escape Self harm isn’t a cry for attention PTSD isn’t something you can just snap out of You don’t know everything, try asking about our illnesses Most importantly have compassion & try to understand 💜
Basically all of those around me are now fed up of me still not being well. This is the longest depressive episode I’ve ever experienced. I do get up & out of bed. I do spend time with my kids. But no, I’m not functioning particularly well & I’m still experiencing #depression…

@mrocdbipolar I’m sorry you’ve been at the rough end of it all., Sounds like a familiar route unfortunately. For what it’s worth I think you’ll beat it, it’s a matter of time, patience and judgement. Being in hospital is difficult as you lose your bearings and become micro managed. Take care

Depression is a complex battle that affects people differently. It's not about just getting out of bed or keeping a job. Some struggle with appetite, self harm, or even thoughts of suicide. Let's embrace empathy and support, not judgment.
@mrocdbipolar Yeah it's really hard to break that cycle... it all gets mixed up together. I've gotten out of the loop before but tbh I don't really understand the essence of how that works, but I think it's the small wins that gain momentum. Wishing you the best

Depression and anxiety convinces us that there is no safe place within our own mind. Those who have not experienced it take that safe place for granted, and they do not understand what it is to have that place set aflame by mental illness.
You can’t just ‘snap out of it’ when you have depression and hearing you say that is harmful. It shows you have no understanding and don’t care enough to understand. No matter how hard you try to fight the thoughts, the darkness completely consumes you, feels like no way out

Basically all of those around me are now fed up of me still not being well. This is the longest depressive episode I’ve ever experienced. I do get up & out of bed. I do spend time with my kids. But no, I’m not functioning particularly well & I’m still experiencing #depression…
Anxiety makes it hard to enjoy anything You can’t relax Your mind is reminding you of all the bad things that could possibly happen It affects you physically & there is no simple solution for it it’s having something inside you that you don’t want but it won’t leave.
Depression isn’t an act Bipolar aren’t phases Suicide isn’t a cowards escape Self harm isn’t a cry for attention PTSD isn’t something you can just snap out of You don’t know everything, try asking about our illnesses Most importantly have compassion & try to understand 💜
