Spoke to a small group in my hometown. I was ready for prayer, the pledge, & a few songs. I was not ready for my 5th grade band teacher having us sing all 5 vs of “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Me: “I thought you were the band teacher, not choir?!” I was initiated immediately.
I had a car full of kids, and we were heading to ball games and I say “And we’re off like a prom dress!” So, yeah. Taught my kids something new today. I am killing it at this parenting thing!
This weekend my friend’s sister went to hand me a drink, friend said “She doesn’t drink.” Sister “You are like this and you are sober?!” I know, impressive, right?
Nothings says “Hello summer!” Like a houseful of kids with the pukes. I bet Tim wishes he didn’t work from home today!! See ya later! ✌🏼

My family brought my mom supper tonight to the nursing home, wait, I mean “rehab facility.” She goes to toast my kids and starts saying “Here’s to you, here’s to me, if we ever disagree…” I stopped her. Mom!!! She says yeah, I probably shouldn’t finish that. WTH?!! 🤦🏼♀️
Since starting my new job, when I get home my kids rush to me and fight for position to squeeze me and bury their little faces in while they hold me and sniff me. Yes SNIFF me. Like they are puppies and I have pockets full of treats. Perks of the Ice Cream Parlor. #lifeissweet
My 5th grader was talking about a kid in her class. Said he talks all the time. But still doesn’t talk as much as me. 😳😂🙋🏼♀️

Had to remind the students AGAIN that if Mrs. Meyer (me) can’t cuss, neither can they. They responded with “We don’t care if you cuss!” I had to tell them that there are no limits to my cussing and they aren’t old enough to hear them. Silence.
My husband just walked in after finishing his workout and says “I hate this. I just keep losing weight instead of gaining.” So if you see him with a black eye and fat lip, I am claiming temporary insanity.
How many times do I go to send a text only to open a thread with a partially written, unsent text? Too damn many. Good grief.
Conversations I never thought I would have to have with high school students (yet I have): If you have super bad gas, especially following a meal, it’s a good indicator you have to poop. PLEASE QUIT GASSING US OUT WITH YOUR TOXIC GAS!!! 🤢😷
