@nicomoel Perhaps. But in the age of AI the last thing the industry’s practitioners need to do is expose their total lack of intelligence - never mind authority - in these matters. Far easier to extract fees and accumulate funds under management telling fairy stories about unicorns

The decline of beauty in everyday life shows up in even the smallest things, like tickets, where we’ve let our obsession with efficiency win out over personality and artistic expression. Like the ticket from the Guggenheim Museum in New York, which I've shared in the first photo. It's an iconic building that could have so easily inspired a beautiful ticket design, but they opted for the most economical option instead. Each example of this decline isn't a big deal, but the world becomes less charming and enchanted when people stop caring about craftsmanship. For some alternatives, scroll through the photos. The second one shows old Japanese train tickets, the third one shows an old circus ticket, and the fourth one is a World Series ticket from 2002, which felt magical when I got to hold one as an eight-year-old. So yes, there’s definitely been a decline. And maybe we’re okay with it! But it’s worth remembering that this decline isn’t inevitable. There is another way.

@henrywinter Let’s be honest England play football like they play cricket. Less lions. more bunnies. Bunnies who play with all the mental resilience of a chocolate Easter egg left out in the Australian midday sun. They just don’t have the balls to dominate the game in the clutch moments

@binaryfootball We are not talking about just this team. This - bar a few exceptions - has been the English modus operandi since the 1970’s across both sports. Seasoned extremely well paid professionals who collectively lack the passion to dominate the game in the clutch moments.

@_agarner What was the close rate? Without the close rate the numbers are interesting but really don’t tell you much about the quality of the targeting E.g. if the close rate was 1 in 10 qualified lead then these numbers are no better than cold calling

@tomfgoodwin It’s designed to obfuscate. It’s designed to make the ad buyer think they are winning even when they are losing. It is basically a derivative of the casino slots. A perfect piece of ugly design addiction offering just enough hints of winning to make you roll that dice again
