After fucking over its founders and investors for years, Norway sat down a(nother) committee for trying to figure out how to avoid even more value creators leaving Norway. Similar to the "wealth tax" which only applies to norwegians, one of the suggestions is yet another TAX BURDEN FOR NORWEGIANS ONLY (exit tax related). People moving to Norway are exempt unless they have lived in Norway for 7 of the last 10 years. That's exactly what socialist leaders do, they treat their citizens as their own property, to be exploited.

I play squash. Nine weeks ago I experienced a serious plantar fascial rupture in my left foot. Had to wait five weeks before trying again. On the first match after I twisted my right ankle seriously, qualifying as a "broken leg". Had to lie still for 1.5 weeks, then hopping around on crotches for another week. After mostly not being able to do any exercise for nine weeks total I'm slowly getting back into it. I love squash. Here's to more blue dots!

Haters will say Dubai is built on "slavery" by forcing people to work and take their passports so they can't leave. But you need to understand that this is the money-version of the same thing. Scaring people from leaving by imposing insane taxes based on money you don't have and never earned is just another way to force you to stay and be a tax slave.

We have this system in Norway to. In addition to wealth taxes. In a healthy european society with sensible politicians, they would offer incentives to join their countries. Instead they are building walls to make it hard for people to leave. I've seen this episode before somewhere...

I got the exact same treatment in Denmark when I moved to Switzerland. This is why successful people move to Dubai or Singapore where people are actually treated nicely.

It will be interesting to see how many "AI-wrapper" startups Apple will kill related to WWDC in June (AI powered Siri etc). But it might also kickstart a few new ones, primarily niche products (good for solo/nimble devs, not so much for larger businesses).

Socialist regimes - including "social democracies" like Norway - hate high achievers. The latest stupid examples in Norway is politicians who want to limit the number of parking spaces and maximize the number of bicycle parkings for shopping at ... Ikea.

@BitcoinErrorLog I was wondering about the propagation speed of events/information in Pubky App/infrastructure (pubsub?) versus Nostr's event model. Do you know if anyone has done any work on this, comparing the two models in terms of propagation speed/latency of information?

Seriously considering restarting Pumpstr development again (Nostr client++, built it for testing BCH based zapping). X is great, but expensive APIs will probably keep it from becoming a lot more than just another social media scroller app, competing with Tiktok and Instagram. Hyprflash and similar is an excellent use case that was seriously handicapped by X API limitations (yes, it wasn't immediately monetizable, which just proves my point).

There's a good chance the pattern of AI vibe coding larger systems will evolve similar to how AI image generation has evolved. The more specific your needs are, the harder it is to get it right. Eventually you will feel like an expert trying to teach a junior how to do even simple stuff. Getting started and initial results is fast, but when you need something very specific you end up having to micro manage everything in detail. I think I saw this with offshoring as well.

Europe really needs new leaders. Value needs to be created before it can get spent, it really is that easy. But european socialist governments pretends otherwise, claiming other issues are more important. Or that highly skilled workers / high value creators do not care about ludicrous taxation. That's delusional and self destructive long term. Unfortunately these politicians have time to fill their own pockets first (short term). So it really is an issue with uninformed voters still believing in traditional marxist propaganda.
