Everyone's talking about AI killing software moats. They’re missing the point. If the only hard thing was building the product, you’re now a services business, easy to start, hard to differentiate. But in regulated markets, software was never the hard part. AI just made these businesses cheaper to build and faster to scale. The moat was never the code. It was everything around it.
