I like weird people. The black sheep. The odd ducks. The eccentrics. The artists. The loners. The people who actually think for themselves. The kind of people whose morals are not swayed by groupthink. More often than not, these people have the most beautiful souls🩶
To expect a trauma survivor to "move on" or reengage w/ someone who abused or neglected them without an honest, realistic accounting of what happened & how it affected them, is to ask them to deny their pain & ignore their injuries. It's an unreasonable, disrespectful ask.

Many trauma survivors become so good at acting like they’re ok that people are often shocked when it’s discovered they are not. Masking is a powerful tool.
many ppl, when you've been abused & traumatized as a result: "Lean on your community!" ... but what if your community is literally where your abuser(s) continue to belong/reside & are consistently supported/protected/embraced by said community? is there any space that is safe?
May you embrace the sacredness of “no.” Honor yourself with the gift of boundaries. Protect your peace.
Requiring a medical document to "excuse" an absence from school or work is classist and discriminatory. Not everyone can afford to see a doctor. Not everyone has a doctor, and even if they do, not everyone can just pick up a note or get in for an appointment.
I feel safe in the company of animals. I feel safe spending time in nature. I rarely feel safe in the presence of (most) humans.

If schools are going to force neurodivergent students to maintain eye contact, not stim and sit uncomfortably, education is going nowhere. This school doesn't give a shit, just fit in, that's why so many neurodivergent students end up masking and suffering. Ableism at its worst.
Also great to see that the site continues to develop. These posters were designed by our excellent librarian, Mr Harris, and are in every classroom - and now on the corridors to reinforce our message and ethos.

Liberals’ love of adoption is a major obstacle to achieving reproductive justice in the United States.
I used to wonder why I felt so exhausted when I got home. I had no energy to do things like talk, cook and keep up with housework. I spent my days off resting and recovering. Now knowing I’m autistic and breaking down everything I experienced everyday it makes a lot of sense.
Capitalism has told us that the American Dream is becoming a megamillionaire or even billionaire. The American Dream should be collectively building a society where nobody starves or goes homeless, and everybody is treated equally, fully insured and paid a living wage.
Imagine naturally believing that it’s okay for you to go through life imperfectly and not overthink it.

this is just preparing kids for when “professionalism” is used to harass & abuse neurodivergent people out of the workforce they’re not exactly subtle about it with adults
