@edgley @HeSays2me It can be very difficult to break the traume bond. Years of abuse and manipulation do change the physiology of the brain. You don’t just leave, there is so much more needed to keep our system feeling safe. It’s scary and seems dangerous to leave a place we know and we’re used to.

@edgley You are not getting over PTSD or CPTSD, you are working through it so that the trauma can be processed. Intention and a trauma informed counselor is needed along with life adjustments and excluding toxicity from your life where possible. It’s challenging but very much worth it.

Our brains are plastic and can change. Life experiences shape neural connections and brain functioning. So yes, #trauma and #abuse impact your brain negatively BUT as you heal and move on, your neural connections will change too. Your choices shape your brain & who you become.

@HeSays2me Once you start making healthy choices you will attract different people. Currently you are dealingvwith someone who is constantly fighting against you. For me, this was the loneliest place I‘ve ever been in. A good trauma therapy is key for getting through this okay and heal.

@rewirethebrain_ No contact is the ONLY way out. Abuse does cause physiological chamge in your brain and causes addiction, going no contact is sonhard as it equals heroin withdrawal incl. all known symptoms. Once you overcame the hard beginning it will become easier, only then you can heal.

@rewirethebrain_ It is hard and painful to sit with these emotions. This is called trauma bonding, and there are methods to free yourself successfully. He never truly protected you, and what you’ve interpreted as love is his unhealthy way of keeping you hooked. Sending you big hugs. xx

@FRibersson And they‘re happy to destroy anyone who see them for what they are. It‘s not tolerable, acceptable and no excuse, they are still lost souls and pitiful. They cannot heal, they can‘t go away from themselves; they are incapable of recognizing what they are doing & who they are.

@FRibersson I agree. It is a protection mode of maladeptivve/abusive behaviours.There is always an extremely hurt person with severe childhood wounds behind/in every narcissist. The way they are acting is not based on logic though. It‘s majorly confusing + damaging to their close environment

@rewirethebrain_ Once no contact is established it will, against expectations, become harder as the abuse has caused a physiological change of your brain; i is like going through heroin withdrawal incl. physical symptoms. It’s challenging but doable. Knowind the science around it does help a lot.
