One time in undergrad I put off writing a paper until the day it was due and I woke up at 4 am and wrote 15 pages in one sitting, and it turned out totally fine and I got good feedback. It's the worst thing that ever happened to me and I wish I could go back in time and undo it

Did you know there's a type of anxiety specific to autism that isn't explained by any of the anxiety disorders currently included the DSM? Researchers are referring to this type of anxiety as "Distinct anxiety" because it's distinct to autism and tied to autistic traits.

Body Doubling - only being able to finish things or feel grounded with someone else in the room - is super common with neurodivergence + complex trauma. It is super useful but can also put us at risk as predators can take advantage of that need+ implant themselves in our lives.

@SNeurotypicals When I first started taking adderall (didnt realize at the time my psych diagnosed me with ADHD and I thought we were trying it as an experimental off-label depression treatment -- which its actually helped a lot), I told my psych I was able to get through a 15+ minute YT video.

sorry to do ADHD posting (cringe) but this is so frustrating to hear all the time. the first time i took adderall i felt my brain finally calm down, i was free of anxiety for the first time in my life, and i cried bc i didn’t realize i could ever feel like that
So Adderall is just amphetamine that Americans take on a daily basis and somehow this is legal?
@SNeurotypicals I think part of it is that ADHD involves lots of processing that's not always apparent even to the person doing that processing. You spend a lot of your life building foundations people can't see, so you do it in an environment of people screaming "build the house!"

Lots of folks responding to this saying even though they know they can’t hyperfocus all the time, they still beat themselves up for it. Be kind to yourselves, it takes a lot of time and effort to challenge negative self beliefs that have been your default for years or decades<3
Who else spent the entire time before finding out you had ADHD thinking hyperfocus should be your 100% level and beating yourself up for not being able to maintain it 24/7? Hyperfocus is like our 300% level. Nobody could do it forever.
