People with dementia do pretty much all the things we think of as being alive: eat, drink, giggle, complain, wander about, pay attention to things, speak, listen, go for a wee, cry, speak of love. Still life!

Many thanks to my colleague who has also wisely observed that frail also doesn't mean 'fragile' or 'looks like they would blow over in a breeze'. Normal BMI, good skin quality, 'solid bones' or whatever coloquial descriptions are used- frailty is about FUNCTION not size/thinness.
