@FaithBorkowsky For several reasons, my hope is for passages on state rdg tests to adjust to the science, engineering, social studies, and arts standards rather than for the standards or curriculum to adjust to what's currently on state rdg tests. And yes, I think this would have great benefits!

Seems to me that there’s a growing number of misconceptions about the 'science of reading'. In the next series of posts, i hope to address some of them. Let’s start with the first misconception: “Children go from learning to read to reading to learn.” Not true!
In preparation for our zoo trip, we ranked the exhibits in order from most want to see to least. Then my firsties ASKED ME if they could write an opinion paragraph for what they would like to see at the zoo! 🥹🤩 ✏️ THEY wanted to WRITE a paragraph! Talk about exciting!!! 🦥🐅🐍
