Unless what you write is extremely niche, giving up after sending 20-30 queries is giving up too prematurely in my opinion. Aim for at least 50-60 or more if you can.

I'm reading queries this morning and came across several that don't tell me what the story is about in the query letter. What does the character want? What obstacle stops them from getting it? How does it get worse? What's at stake? What choice must they make?
Itās important to remember that beneath the exciting announcements of publication or agent contracts are a thousand tireless hours of work when the writer constantly questioned āam I good enoughā? Be happy for people even if your time hasnāt come yet.

You are the author of your own life, and itās never too late to replace the stories you tell yourself and the world. Itās never too late to begin a new chapter, add a surprise twist, or change genres entirely.
Entrepreneurs go from idea to sale in the time it takes wantrepreneurs to write out a business plan. The distance between where you are and where you wish to be decreases dramatically when you take the first action. Think NOW, not HOW.
When others treat you poorly it doesn't degrade you, it degrades them.

I know that building an audience as an author means choosing a genre, but, do you believe a writer can write in more than one genre and be successful?
No one has to stop their workout for your video. The gym is for training first, NOT filming.
After lots of reflection and some time away, I think querying agents isn't my path. I've slowly come to accept that fact, and I like the idea of self-publishing more. I am an artist too, so I love to draw, and with self-publishing, I can be more creative and do what I want.
