Joining what seems to be a growing crowd and will be releasing some extended 4K video highlights from the April 26th tornado outbreak in Nebraska and Iowa. Full VLOG to come for sure, but I am desperate to share some of these video sequences with you all.
The start of May will likely continue the active severe pattern that we've seen in recent days. CPC analogs are favourable for severe weather with low amplitude troughing off both coasts and weak ridging across the Midwest/Plains. 1/

I'm sure Andrew's work is great and sharing because of that. I saw this updraft explode and the black meso churn as the storm moved up the country road north out of Glenwood. So obviously doing bad things and headed for worse. So I haven't watched and won't for a while, prolly.

@skydrama @Bill_Doms I had no choice, I managed to find every washed out minimum maintenance mud road in all of Iowa within a single tornado’s lifespan, I had to turn around and catch back up again several times 😂
@Bill_Doms I can't even really force myself to shoot through a windshield at all. Even epic stuff of others I just can't stop focusing on wipers. It's crazy when it's parked footage of something insane.
Still watching videos of the 4.26 event. Some veteran advice to everyone who has zero concept of what "infinity lock" is on a camera: No one will watch razor sharp pretty rain drops on your glass with the out of focus tornado of your career behind them.
Moving forward into mid-may, we might see a quick lull as the MJO moves into more unfavourable phases. However by the second half of May, the MJO and AAM will be once again returning to favourable phases for severe weather suggesting another active month could be in store.
While specifics are TBD, the GEFS/EPS/GEPS are in agreement that areas east of the Rockies are set to see enhanced precipitation totals. This would inevitably include convection tied to severe weather. 2/
The start of May will likely continue the active severe pattern that we've seen in recent days. CPC analogs are favourable for severe weather with low amplitude troughing off both coasts and weak ridging across the Midwest/Plains. 1/
