@JordanHallWX Tornadoes are mesmerizing you got to know when to cut & run. Weather radio, cell phone with radar apps & good old fashioned maps in case you lose cell coverage. Always took a barometer. Twice we thought it was broken when it dropped fast, it wasn't. Trust the barometer!

I’d just like to point out I have the best coworkers on the planet. At SPC, no decision is made in isolation. We are a team. When the midshift got in last night the first thing I told them was “if you have thoughts on Friday, I’m open to hear them.”

March 25th 1948 needs to be Independence Day but for severe storms forecasters.
75y ago on 25 Mar ‘48, Air Force weather officers E. J. Fawbush and R. C. Miller successfully predicted a tornado at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. This single forecast led to the establishment of a centralized US severe weather forecast program (and ultimately the SPC).
@nadocast @meteoroloquads Oh ok, I assumed it was +10% more as well as including 65kt+ winds. It said on the bottom of the outlook there.
@nadocast We dont get them anymore since they updated the asos about 5 years ago but before that we would hand edit them out.
