Truer words were never spoken. Patients going into billions of dollars in debt in order to create the billions of dollars of profits for health insurance cos. The big ins/PBM cos are much higher on Fortune 500 then any pharma co. Regulators/legislators take off the blinders.
PBMs claim underpayments make pharmacies seek the "best deal", which often comes from sketchy secondary wholesalers. PBMs create such a desperate environment that pharmacies are forced to gamble on the legitimacy of their meds #TwitteRx #pharmacy @TruthRX safemedicines.org/2024/02/pbmbla…
Funny, thats the average that I'm losing on brand-name drugs every 3 months per patient. So I think you're confused, you arent saving the patient money, the PBM is saving (ie: stealing) that money.
We lost $38 on Ozempic recently. Patient actually showed me his EOB from his Medicare Part-D plan. Plan paid over $1,200 PBM paid our pharmacy $876 and pocketed the spread, which was well over $300 for one drug. If you aren’t enraged by this: unfollow me right now.

each of them finally found doctors who would prescribe them immune suppressants. both turned out to be right about their diagnoses and went into remission after finding the right immune suppressants.
every time i see healthcare providers making jokes about “patients who have too much medical knowledge and diagnose themselves with rare diseases,” i think of two different patients in a clinic where i used to work. each of them were convinced they had rare autoimmune diseases.
@Pharmassists I spend a stupid amount of time every day educating my patients on how PBMs have monopolized the system at everyone else’s expense. Not what I spent 6 years in college to do. Can’t provide top notch care when all I’m worried about is keeping the doors open.
