Um... I just had like a 20 minute conversation with ChatGPT about the history of modern physics. If I had this shit as a tutor during high school and college.... OMG. I think we can basically re-invent the concept of education at scale. College as we know it will cease to exist.

Another common argument is that being a grad student is like an apprenticeship. Buddy, apprentices get paid. If we are actually faculty apprentices, we should be getting a heck of a lot more.

It's weird that UC characterizes TAs workload as half-time, and many faculty accept that argument. But grads are in class *and doing research* for the other 50% of the time. What if faculty were not paid to do research or educate ourselves?
