Maybe an unpopular opinion but I would really like to see a cup competition where all the baseball minor leagues (A, AA, AAA) and MLB participate. Baseball season is 140 games and you can certainly shorten that to squeeze in a tournament

@frankmikesmith France too. They were not considered a major power in football at all before the 80s. They went a different way where they made several high performance academies (Clairefontaine) where the best kids are selected and receive special training. Completely free
