@Brink_Thinker I'm guessing this is AI. Dog barks, kid doesn't notice. Dog approaches, girl jumps into the chair and turns off the TV with the remote that ... dog gives to her? It wasn't on the table. If it was in dog's mouth, it should've fallen out during the barking.

@paulg "Wokeness" is about basic human rights. It only looks like identity politics because certain groups are targeted for oppression while others aren't. But yeah, it's been frustrating to see supposedly libertarian friends cheering authoritarianism on.

@RichardDawkins That's your takeaway from this whole thing? The Harris campaign didn't tell white voters that they're racist because they're white. They didn't talk all that much about trans people. They did denounce racism and transphobia, which I suppose some ppl equated with your summary.

@ThatArrowsmith @TuckerMax @david_perell You haven't read the whole thing. The interview addresses comics who aren't famous. It's kind of hard to give you the names of specific no-name comics of any political persuasion. They're "no-name" for a reason. :D

@TuckerMax @david_perell I watched Chapelle's "The Closer" to see for myself whether trans advocates were overreacting. They weren't ... and Chapelle fell prey to the same victimhood mentality you hate. He just whined constantly about how people were mad at him.

@TuckerMax @david_perell Zero comedians have suffered real-life consequences. A lot of people got mad at Dave Chapelle when he started with his anti-trans bigotry, and he lost that portion of his audience, but Netflix still gave him tons of $$$ to make more specials.

@TuckerMax @david_perell Even if there are no powerless people, there are people with more power than others. ATM, the people making laws about who gets to use which restrooms have more power than the people they're trying to keep out of restrooms. Which group do you think comedians should mock?

@TuckerMax @david_perell Mostly enjoying this. Only thing I take issue with so far is your point about comedians always speaking truth to power. They may *feel* powerless against some targets, but they aren't, & they can do real harm to actual powerless ppl. Longer reply on the video's comment thread.

@cherylbenson @MEActNet I knew her. She was a wonderful person who dedicated herself to helping others when she was dealing with her own severe health problems. Other people posting about her knew her a lot better than I did. Why would anyone say this to someone who's grieving?

@bbuckley88 @JoyceCarolOates Tomboys are either (a) accepted for who they are, or (b) told to be more feminine. No parent of an tomboy has ever leapt to "Oh, you should be a boy! Let's give you a new name and start you on hormones when you hit puberty!" That's not a thing.
