@NationalsSource It's not just about small odds - it's about the small reward for sneaking in as the #5 or #6 seed. You get a road series at the Braves or Cubs? Have to win 2 out of 3 on the road before you earn a home game? With this pitching staff? Not worth foregoing any future assets over.

@gerypointoh @WiscoGrant Maybe, and it won’t be an NFL venue in about six to eight years. The Packers have no plans to explore a different stadium (and given their model, I doubt they could afford a modern stadium built new).

@team980 Sorry. I’m not buying that with this pitching staff. You have two starters and maybe one credible reliever - and I’m not even sure I’d rate Ribalta that highly, he’s just the best of a really weak group. Beeter is okay recently but still quite shaky. Everyone else is filler.

You can offer him an appealing deal, but if you’re too public about it, that can be perceived like you’re trying to negotiate through the public and that can lead to hurt feelings or mistrust.
