@michelletandler Broken window policing has been debunked scientifically. The decline in crime in the 90s was a multi-country phenomenon, most pronounced in Europe. There is no single explanation for it, and it was likely due to many factors. Nothing concrete to extrapolate for modern-day SF.

@anothercohen All pet insurance providers will raise premiums over time as your pets age. Another quirk is that many don’t cover doc fees. And some only offer fixed indemnity coverage. I haven’t looked into it lately, but when we insured our dog, @PetsBest was best.

If your deductible has been met, then it’s either a plan w/ high coinsurance %, or an out of network charge, or your med carrier rejecting a portion of bill, eg as not being medically necessary (that one you can appeal).
