@goblinodds It oughtn't be controversial to shut down ethnic rape gangs, but apparently if Nick Griffin says they're bad in a racist way, normie Labor and Con politicians won't do anything about it lest they get contaminated by him.
@goblinodds For example, the reason why the British far-right (and they *are* far-right, the BNP for example is a direct descendant of the British Union of Fascists) has been gaining power is because there are obvious problems that the normies won't do anything about.
@paleonormie Yeah, part of the trouble is that the very-high-needs stage lasts max about 10 years for most people (from youngest infant to oldest in elementary school). It's not worth it *during that time* but it might be worth it to keep the option open for later.
@goblinodds There's this pattern of "this group of people is bad, therefore nobody can be allowed to agree with them on anything" which ends up in very bad places. Nick Griffin was one of the first Brits to talk about Rotherham!
@goblinodds I don't like it in part because, say, racism is a real and bad thing, and ironically claiming racism yourself because you know the libs will call you racist for cynical reasons ends up giving cover to actual bad guys.
@goblinodds My preference is to actually filter on the *people* whose arguments are worth engaging with, which means you have to identify those who have standing. But that's hard, and it is true that filtering on people willing to say rude things gets rid of a lot of bad faith libs.
@goblinodds The common experience as a rightie who strongly dislikes vice signaling is basically this. It's not that the argument is necessarily wrong, it's that it's transparently manipulative and in bad faith. Vice signaling is a response to this, though I don't like it.
@MorlockP We had an HR announcement the other day letting us know about their public acclimation program to reward employees and they said "we know some of you scientists don't like that sort of thing... but we do, so it's moving forward!"
@goblinodds Having a bunch of self-conscious people around elicits shitty behavior from people who would otherwise act decently. It's like predator-prey relationships.
@St_Rev I always find it frustrating when lefties correctly note that rich, mostly white, guys get a lot of benefits and privileges, misattribute it to the white rather than the rich, and therefore do their best to screw over poor whites.
@tracewoodgrains And the educational reforms of the sixties did actually improve the school performance and education of black Americans. Just not to parity. It was worth giving everyone books and schools, we've just now done that.
@goblinodds I've had this response to people about labor/hiring laws
"Uh, Bob, I don't think we're allowed to base things on whether or not you think she'll get pregnant."
