@stefanski_radek From around 500 to post 1500, the west was a relative cultural and economic backwater compared to eastern powers. Your hierarchy and fear of unknown lines do show some salience - both rose going into 500 and then started falling going into 1500, it may be capturing something

Majority of American are not in favor of drastic cuts or 0 immigration. So with immigration we have, it’s high time we rethink what the type of immigration we do want. Even if numbers decline or flatten, that ratio should be skewed more towards so called high skill immigration
People can take this with their pinch of salt. Fact remains that only about 20% of US green cards go to economically driven immigration ie H1B, O1 to GC conversions. 80% goes to diversity, family (which includes extended family), asylum etc. plus it’s gotten harder and harder

My guess is when models are developed, the first frontier is as good a model as possible with existing data. The unique data as a differentiator comes once the low hanging fruit is all taken, we’re not there yet. And eventually model parsimony and compute optimization
If the ingredients to strong AI models are just: Nvidia chips and good engineers, it's not really weird that Chinese open models are near parity. But why hasn't OpenAI's dominant market share translated into reams of unique data, that it can turn into compounding advantage?

@rrpre There will be no tanking in the aggregate. The likely scenario is that in a supply constrained market, as more supply comes on gradually over multiple years, house prices will flatten or fall marginally in nominal terms. There will not be a glut and problems will be limited
