@TechMaster360 @Teamgrassroots_ I was refereeing at this level 50 years ago, aged 15, and received the same type of abuse and threats from parents. It is sadly not a modern thing. After a break of some decades, I returned to officiating for a local adult Sunday league. Some good experiences, some bad.

@furious76114 @secretHT1 Its the unpaid overtime that mounts up: report writing, in before the kids, still at school long after they've gone home, planning, marking, displays, meetings, moderation meetings... I could go on and on. Hundreds of hours worked by a teacher over the course of an academic year.

@FootballRemind Shoot! The league ladders, player columns (Best, Moore) , decent articles, match pictures in colour etc. My local newsagents reserved a copy every week and on Thursday's I went down with my 5p to collect it. A great read!

@drewsnx @_petermason I live opposite a 20mph warning sign which is activated every time a vehicle exceeds the speed limit. Most, repeat, most exceed the speed limit, often observably by a big margin. I observed a fella in a 20mph zone do around 50mph along a residential road recently. Reckless!

@MacdermottDave @CyclingInASkirt The trend I'm finding with some pedestrians, and I walk plenty as well as cycle, is walking down the middle of, albiet, quiet roads. In addition, the heads-down mobile phone user stepping onto the road to cross and those using dedicated cycle lanes as an addition pavement.

@clairebubblepop I started my working life as a hospital cleaner back in the 70s and loved every moment of the three years I spent doing it. Without us, the hospital could not have functioned. Cleaners, whatever the setting, are needed and should be valued.

Meanwhile, the monthly Camping and Caravanning club journal has a outer wrap you can put in your compost bin! Not a lot a people know.

@cristinaweyer @Alex_Bramley3 I can absolutly relate to that. I left teaching in 2018 after 15 years service. I calculated that had worked around 12,000 hours 'overtime' during that period. All unpaid of course and this was just to keep up on top of the job and attend toadditional curriculum responsibilities.

@MissiP16 @Ruthwood23 Spot on. The whole profession run on the goodwill of the teachers and teaching assistants, going above and beyond their duties everyday. The myth that teaching staff come in with the pupils and leave with them at home time still prevails, especially after watching Waterloo Rd.
