XRP sell off has been very painful for believers in #crypto and Ripple in particular.......... ChatGPT about it: "XRP really was once marketed almost like “the banker’s crypto”: fast settlement, cheap transfers, Ripple partnerships, “replacement for SWIFT” narratives, and the idea that banks would need XRP as a bridge asset for cross-border payments. What happened is not that the idea completely died. It’s that the investment thesis changed. The original dream was: banks adopt RippleNet → they use XRP for liquidity → payment volume explodes → $XRP becomes the global bridge asset → price follows. The problem is that each step became harder than early investors expected. First, banks liked #Ripple’s technology more than they necessarily needed XRP. A bank can use Ripple-style messaging, settlement software, or private liquidity arrangements without holding a volatile public token. That weakened the “every bank will need XRP” thesis. Second, regulatory uncertainty crushed the institutional story for years. The SEC sued Ripple in 2020, and the case dragged on until 2025. The court ultimately made a split distinction: Ripple’s institutional XRP sales were treated as unregistered securities offerings, while secondary-market sales on exchanges were not. The case ended with Ripple paying a penalty and the institutional-sales injunction still relevant. That long uncertainty made many conservative financial institutions avoid touching XRP directly. Third, the payments world evolved. The “XRP as bridge currency” idea now competes with stablecoins, tokenized deposits, CBDC experiments, real-time payment systems, and bank-owned settlement rails. Ripple itself now promotes RLUSD, its dollar-backed stablecoin, inside Ripple Payments, which shows that even Ripple sees stablecoins as central to enterprise payment demand. Fourth, XRP’s price became disconnected from the old utility narrative. It remained a major crypto asset, but much of the market traded it around lawsuit headlines, ETF speculation, retail momentum, and crypto cycles, not purely around payment usage. That is why XRP can still spike on legal clarity or institutional headlines, even while the chart looks weak later. So the honest answer is: the “jewel of crypto” story was overpromised. XRP did not become the universal payment coin that banks were forced to hold. The practical adoption path became slower, more regulated, and more competitive than the early narrative suggested. But it is not dead either. XRP still has a real ecosystem, Ripple still operates in cross-border payments, legal clarity is better than it was, and XRP still has a possible role as a bridge/liquidity asset. The difference is that investors now need to treat it less like a guaranteed “future SWIFT killer” and more like a high-beta crypto asset whose upside depends on actual institutional usage, liquidity demand, regulation, and whether XRP remains relevant alongside stablecoins. From an investor perspective, XRP’s old glory thesis has become a more sober question: Can XRP prove real payment utility at scale, or will stablecoins capture most of the payment use case while XRP remains mostly a speculative asset?

GC getting first close outside of daily KC on "leg 2" down on weeklies. IF it takes out today's high the next two trading days, the model will give a buy. Otherwise, "ride the rails" on the KC to downside.
