Any psychotherapist worth their salt has had their own deep, meaningful psychotherapy. And will probably continue to return throughout many stages of life.

One’s ability to invite someone into painful spaces is proportional to their experiential conviction that they can join them there. They have been to similar lived depths within themselves, with another.
And if a patient prefers less than weekly therapy, it's always worth questioning what's underneath this. Some fear, self-protective mechanisms, internal conflict about healing lifelong (familiar) patterns, etc.

There is a shortage of psychotherapy in the US. The AI “solution” is a non-human/professional, substandard substitute. The solution is cheaper training, cheaper education. Less upfront cost/no more conditional “promise” of loan forgiveness & increased reimbursement by insurance

Most training sites today will tell you that a patient's anger means you're doing something wrong and need to try something new. Therapies of depth, insight, and relationship tell you to lean into that anger. This is where the most beautiful therapy is just beginning.

1/ I’ve never had a “noncompliant” therapy patient. I don't even find the word helpful. It implies therapist brings an agenda for patient to follow, but that’s not how good therapy works. Good therapy means a "working alliance"—a shared understanding & agreement about the purpose

Patients don't understand and don't care about your theoretical orientation. They just want help with their suffering. This doesn't mean you should use a model - just that it's helpful to hold it lightly.

@levelsio I think calling it TherapistAI was a tactical mistake here since therapists are licensed professionals in most jurisdictions And there's a reason for that. Statistically valid responses from a model cannot be held accountable.
