Interesting paper: doi.org/10.1177/026921… We need to talk about polypharmacy! Many people received potentially inappropriate medication during the last two weeks of life. Deprescribing was reactive rather than proactive. This means avoidable burden for patients, staff + system.

Academic colleagues who work in areas concerned with research methodologies have a duty to speak up here. The Cass Review's methods are horrendously flawed. Yet it is being passed off as an 'independent report' that should be taken seriously. Integrity matters.

A Government that actually wanted to address the workplace and the fiscal effects of poor mental health would focus on, in particular, poverty and all its impacts and mental health care. It would be guided by a real, and sustained, care for those of us who are struggling.
If @NHSEngland and ICBs continue to sit on their hands, and blame each other, cuts to hospice care services will be seen first & furthest in less wealthy communities, where charitable donations simply can't be expected to cover the deficits. We are seeing this already @hospiceuk
