I like a joke as much as the next person but it’s sad to read that some people are making jokes about the #ForestGate Police Station fire. It’s not funny - it is tasteless. One of our Stations is on fire - think about the stress your colleagues are going through before posting.

Every year thousands of Officers perform brave, selfless acts in the name of protecting life.Everyday,Officers put themselves in harms way to protect victims and the wider public. A framed certificate is the very least the organisation can do to show recognition.

Saw a news article questioning cost of picture frames/certificates recognising officers achievement/bravery. Having hosted two recent events for police and heard firsthand the courage/injury/trauma experienced I think the real Q should be whether only a certificate is sufficient?

I know I speak for all my colleagues when I say I am disgusted by this man and his actions. I am ashamed he wore the same uniform as us. We now have to bear the brunt of his crimes which will undoubtedly make our jobs harder. Dark day for Policing bbc.in/3Y9xrlK
