@jessiejensen I once made a comment in a parenting group on Facebook that non-Mormon babysitters tend to charge/expect more and people got BIG MAD at me for suggesting it. I thought, at the time, that perhaps I was mistaken.

@Shilo2141 @jessiejensen Yes. My FIL worked with the dad and told him it was a perfectly reasonable amount for babysitting. Because a man told him it was okay, he listened.
@jessiejensen One time we paid a babysitter a reasonable hourly wage for 3 young kids & her father demanded she give the check back & we write a new one for half that. I refused. Mormon dad thought he could strong arm me, but he’d never met a woman like me before.

@KylesinUT Having regular conversations that ensure they both feel happy with the household dynamic for the rest of your life is more than necessary. Most couples have both parties working outside of the home.
