@FCisnotScience I don’t know anymore regarding how conscious. I think the ability to recognize self-cueing depends partly on the strength of belief in its preceding factors of identity and authorship. The facilitated identity that your kid will be a psychic could be genetics beyond self-control

@FCisnotScience If Manisha Lad doesn't spell conversations with her son but instead trains him to do psychic games, that's a whole another mindset from most of FC. I didn't grasp that the parent authors the identity of their child, which determines the technique and may not even relate to comm.

@FCisnotScience Yes, the most interesting one to me is joysticking Akhil. The one trick I haven’t figured out is how does the facilitator cue the client when their finger is far away from the screen, striking a button quickly from considerable distance.

To see the full scope of cueing, you’d need three stationary close-up camera angles (front, side, top) of the board, the script if “independent,” no cutscenes, clear audio, and full view of facilitator.

@jimtemu @FCisnotScience Ways to improve FC prompt fading: constantly shake the camera, position the camera angle from the board’s side not front or back view, use a board color that camouflages, add on louder background soundtrack, practice the script off camera more, add subtitle but loop the same clip

@jimtemu @FCisnotScience The facilitator is fading not off but away from the audience/camera view (from the client’s hand to behind their shoulder). When I do video analysis of cueing the board, I notice so many ways to improve the magic trick, the biggest one being to never stabilize the camera.

@FCisnotScience My least knowledgeable FC issue is prompt fading. “Prompt,” “cue,” etc. are implicitly banned words. My understanding was you’re supposed to move the board and not talk about it. If you do talk about it, just say you’re not moving the board, you’re helping with the apraxia.
