#sleep doesn't just affect our nighttime, it affects our waking life too. short-term #insomnia affects our mood, focus, & productivity. long-term it's been linked to heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, depression, anxiety and more.

One of my favourite quotes is "Happiness consists of getting enough sleep. Just that, nothing more" (Robert A Heinlein). I'm not sure it's entirely true (!) but it's certainly true that we need enough quality sleep for optimal #Health & optimal #brainhealth

I'm a therapist and have seen an explosion in #mentalhealth problems across all ages & also in people who had no problems before. Attempted suicides may not appear in your data but they are on the increase. Long waiting lists for help even if its available. #mentalhealthMatters

@NadineDorries I work in GP practice. Every week we have notifications of patients attempting to take their own lives now. The amount of phone calls we receive daily for mental health crisis is huge. I can see such a decline in my own family, friends and colleagues frame of mind 💯

It's small ltd business owners who have annual salaries/pay dividends/plough money back into their business/have just set up and have been surviving on savings - which are now all gone. No furlough.
