Some people foolishly considered this the exactly wrong way - that each escalation of credibility shredding practices would slow them down but instead what it did was establish a new baseline of what would be accepted and expected by some Oh and SEIU actually runs the California elections and they are a directly interested party and have demonstrated that they are quite willing to view "elections" as a tool to extract money and power from the political system rather than as a way to "measure the sentiment of The People" [or however you want to describe the view of people who believe in "democracy']

Today, I decided to leave my church. I can't sit through another political sermon where the phrase "White Supremacy" is used again and again, and I'm told I'm not doing enough for the LGBTQ+++ crowd. I want a church that has more crucifixes than rainbow flags and whose bishop doesn't send videos to play about how he protests at whatever the church's politics-du-jour is. And thus, I am no longer a member of the United Methodist Church.

The idea that you can talk shit with no possible physical consequence has been the "law" for a long time. But few really believed it or acted that way, it wasn't the social norm, there was some honor culture left. Actually internalizing this expectation is very new.

My friend had ALS. He joined a trial and was immediately worse after taking the medicine. He told the researchers. They said it could not be from the medicine but that if he didnt want to be in the trial, he could stop. He stopped. His departure was not mentioned in the trial data. Another friend worked at Stanford when they were doing trials on Ambien. One elderly woman in the trial kept removing her clothes and was sleepwalking around at night naked. He was part of the research team, and he told the other researchers that this drug was not safe; if that woman had not been in the sleep lab with him, she could have gotten hurt or in trouble. They fired him. Not just from the trial, but from Stanford. He was later told that if the trial is not successful, then Stanford won't be asked to do clinical trials and will lose millions of dollars. Another school will get that money instead of Stanford. This is one reason why many universities can't tell the truth. That truth costs them money.

Bought a $1,742.80 camera online from BestBuy. The FedEx delivery driver stole it. FedEx admitted it. But BestBuy won’t give a refund. Every single officer in that pustulent abscess of a police department immediately understood the ramifications of the incident. They knew they'd spent years implementing and acquiescing to two-tier policing policies. They knew those policies led directly to Nowak's unnecessary death. They knew they were all implicated. And they understood the political context: that those policies had already made them the single most hated group in Britain, possibly the most despised group in the entire Western world. They understood that the British people have been inching ever closer to the Great Snap, when they will begin stalking through the streets with blunt instruments and kitchen knives, hunting mongrels in hi-viz vests. They do this every single time. Years ago, in the 1990s, there was only one -- ONE -- conservative voice being broadcast. Rush Limbaugh. And the only venue that would take Rush was AM radio, years after everyone stopped listening to AM and switched to FM. This isn't even counting TV! Just radio. And Rush succeeded like you wouldn't fucking believe, even though he was limited to the AM radio waves. So you know what the Left did? They tried to silence him. The Democrats actually fucking tried to push a law through to enforce "equal time". AM Radio stations would have been required under this law to air as many left-wing talk radio hours as they did for Rush and other new right-wing AM radio talk shows. "What left-wing AM radio talk shows?" Exactly. If the radio station couldn't FIND a left-wing talk show to fill that requirement, then they would have been required by this law to dump Rush from their lineup. FOR AM FUCKING RADIO.
