@morallawwithin Toronto is a very eerie orange hue today and the smell of smoke is heavy in the air. I was in northern Ontario for a few days, and we could see burnt trees from a couple weeks ago. Yesterday morning we had an orange sunrise and full haze. The smoke has followed me home.

@PAHoyeck @KooHo_jin These are all fair points. It’s a wonky film in many respects, but the world it immerses you in is sort of liminal and strange all around. It’s an achievement in Gothic fairytale vibes. A weird but special film, IMO. It belongs in the Library of Congress or in space probes.
@PAHoyeck @KooHo_jin Night of the Hunter and Tomorrow Never Dies getting the same rating is hard for me to swallow. NotH is one of the most visually arresting films I’ve ever seen. The images and feel stick with you. I might be shortchanging TND but that’s because I remember nothing of it!
