it’s time to leave that now. the loss has been less by assault than by attrition. slow deaths don’t open so easily onto mourning. the internet liberated us from face to face relations but it keeps promising different collectivities that turn out to have been wildly ephemeral.

@DrRupaMarya i learned only after ending therapy that my bay area therapist, whom i hadn’t known was a zionist israeli, had posted some quite vile anti-palestinian and islamophobic stuff online. i will absolutely be vetting any and all future therapists for their stance on palestine.

in many universities, there's a full-on assault on (trans)gender, race, ethnic & sexuality studies. in many cases, austerity is being leveraged to discipline these fields out of existence. the department i have been affiliated with for the last two decades is not one of them 1/x

for now, i want at least to leave the above as a placeholder. we are going to have to fight for our existence in the university in coming years. i just want to discourage others from using our case to exemplify the attack on the university. it isn't. it's toxic. but not that.
