@biglawbro The evolution of the industry is as much about talent strategies and generational shifts as it is about business & service model change. Law students and young lawyers are less and less interested in practicing like the generations that came before them. And that’s a good thing.

@ryanmckeen I agree on the generalist point; and another interesting angle is that AI-powered service delivery unbundling allows elite specialists in boutique firms to also offer more commoditized-type work if they'd like. Can think of a number of sectors for this.

@ryanmckeen Yes, and in the UK, where the regulatory regime is more established, investors (PE and institutional) are buying specialization premiums. Specialized firms seem to have more leverage in PE right now, and the generalists might also get squeezed. Same with accounting IMO.
