Lisa Nandy is championing proposals through her department’s green paper, Watch this Space, that have no place in a liberal democracy. The proposals would force social media platforms to prioritise “trusted” public service broadcasters, such as the BBC, while demoting content from other news organisations, including GB News, The Telegraph and The Guardian. What right does the Government have to decide which news sources are “trusted” and which are not? This is not only the infantilisation of the British public; it is also an assault on a free and independent press.

BAHAHAHA 🤣 …. Boris set up a quango called Jet Zero (I shit you not) it’s spent or committed over £ HALF A BILLION of taxpayers money! It tells airlines to buy synthetic fuel from 2028. EasyJet’s boss (who sits on its Jet Zero taskforce) says the fuel only exists in “laboratories and beakers”. So airlines MUST buy fuel that DOESN’T EXIST … or face £400 million in fines. Net Zero economics 🤡 (Honestly, today is hilarious)

Not hyperbole to make comparisons to the Kirk murder here in the sense of ‘Ann Widdecombe’s murder is basically the British version of that’. Really innocuous inoffensive ‘right wing’ figure you’d have to be a very very radicalised left wing nutcase to even begin to imagine it was worth the bother killing. British Police have played a blinder drip-feeding information about Ann’s death - the slow burn has ensured there has been even less outrage over it than Charlie’s when there really should be much more

Indeed, Odysseus is the most complex character in the Iliad. Otherwise, Homer would not have written the Odyssey. Although the term "odyssey" has evolved into a metaphor representing a difficult journey full of hardship, largely because of what Odysseus had to endure due to Poseidon's wrath (I visited the Temple of Poseidon near Athens this year), as a child, I intuitively felt that the gods, in fact, punished Odysseus for his invention of the Trojan Horse as a symbol of the worst deception in war times; thus he had to endure so much on the road to true redemption. His invention was a cunning and arguably unfair strategy to defeat an enemy as brave and successful as himself and his fellows. To me, Odysseus epitomizes the intricate nature of a true hero that has many facades - good but also bad ones. Most of all, it’s insufficient to merely be a courageous and skillful warrior like Hector and Achilles; one must also demonstrate wisdom, perseverance, and loyalty to family, friends, and subordinates. More importantly, the road to Ithaca serves as a metaphor for me, symbolizing not only the longing for one's home and loved ones but also the pursuit of an elusive dream. It is during the journey to one’s Ithaca, when one displays true character traits like courage, wisdom, loyalty, and perseverance; that is when the full breadth of one's personality is revealed. This metaphor for the most important journey in life, this true odyssey allows one to achieve the seemingly impossible, surpassing what no one has achieved before.
