At exactly 22:24 last night, it was 26 years since I opened my Betfair account. Back on 18 June 2000, betting exchanges didn't really exist as a concept for most people. The internet was still in its infancy, broadband was rare, and the idea that ordinary people could trade bets with each other seemed revolutionary. That one account changed my life. Over the last 26 years I've matched an incredible amount of bets, safely; traded through countless sporting events, built Bet Angel, created cutting edge sports models, gathered data on millions of events and met some incredible people. The technology, markets and opportunities have evolved beyond recognition, and will continue to do so. But the excitement of finding an edge and solving the puzzle remains exactly the same. It's been an extraordinary journey so far. Here's to the next chapter, whatever that is🍻

@betangel Would that be something to do with cell expansion or a diminishing returns kind of thing? My math case study at Uni was about optimising angle of solar panels for summer and winter at different latitudes. Its all Intriguing stuff.

@hamptonism We will want preservation; take thehip and knees, synthetic organs, cybernetic upgrades >> culminating in a diluted soul. A big political event, why should those 60% augmented pay for the upkeep of the minimal cybernetic. Those that refuse preservation therapy are on their own.
