i just checked back through my old tweets, and i started working on the usual suspects in october of 2020 and it was finished in december of 2021. hard to believe it only took me barely over a year. i started working on die hard in june of 2022 so it's already been almost two.

this week i'll try to do all the photography for the scenes in the small office room, then i have some other small scenes i want to do. my plan is to finish the first 25-ish pages of the comic and post them online maybe by june?

okay i'm finally done taking pics for that section of the comic, although i have to remake part of the set. it took me a lot longer than i wanted but i kept procrastinating like always. in unrelated news, i got this bad boy in the mail.

i didn't work on the die hard project at all this week, i just didn't have the mental energy to deal with it. hopefully this week goes better. i really want to take apart the set so i can get my gaming table back, haha.

honestly i should know better than to say "i'll be finished by this weekend!" because every time i say that about any project i'm working on, it takes like two more months. i took pics for about two pages of the comic today but i still have a lot more to do.

here's a little sneak peek of mercer (aka john mcclane) in his white t-shirt. as the comic progresses, he'll get dirtier just like in the movie. i have multiple torsos so i can switch out between them when i need to take pics from earlier or later in the comic.

hey thanks for all the comments on my last tweet! i'm going to rebuild the set in my other room to improve the lighting, that should help a lot. generally i think my problems are combination of poor lights, poor phone, and the fact that i'm simply not a very good photographer!

the set is finished more or less, but unfortunately i've been hampered by sciatic nerve pain this week so i haven't worked on it since monday. tomorrow i should be able to finally start taking pictures.

one thing i'm doing for this project is using actual clear plastic for windows, instead of lame blue construction paper like i did in the usual suspects project. this will allow actual reflections, although that might be more of a hindrance than a benefit.
