I reflect now on the 5+ years I spent selling into dentists and it was a good education in selling. Dentists are SMBs, doctors, consumers, and often have multiple stake-holders -> the staff, the dentist, even members of the dentist's family!

@micahjay1 Completely agree. I find it strange how LPs often hyper focus on how many deals you are seeing- it's easy to drown in deal flow. What's hard is to source, validate and earn the right to invest in the deals that will yield the next generation of outliers.

Counterintuitively, in my experience, more dealflow does not necessarily yield better investments / returns. There seems to be a diminishing return with too much volume and networks that are large, but shallow. There's probably an ideal spot on this curve, but its hard to place…
