My health insurance company has decided that I, an insulin-dependent Type 1 diabetic, only need to test my blood sugar 5 times a day, down from the 6 they previously “allowed” Note to reader: if I only knew my blood sugar at 5 points throughout the day, I’d be dead.
@Kidfears99 My health insurance demands a prior authorization for my CGM every 6 months which my doctor sends over and they ignore till I'm almost out of supplies basically begging someone from my docs office to call them and demand they send it to the mecial supplier. It's degrading.
@joyfuldanni @Kidfears99 Tell me your med device supplier is Byram without telling me it’s Byram. 🫤
@joyfuldanni @Kidfears99 Omg, the same thing happens to my husband! Every frickin’ time.
@joyfuldanni @Kidfears99 Please speak to your doctor to see if they’ll agree to post a photo & compensation package of the CEO of the insurer you have in their waiting room along with the number of useless PA requests their company sends to your doctor. It’s time to shame the industry.
@joyfuldanni @Kidfears99 Capitalism. Best system on earth. Am I right???
@joyfuldanni @Kidfears99 Yep. I know this all too well. It's awful.
@joyfuldanni @Kidfears99 Our insurance does this for my husband's migraine meds. They also randomly decide every few years that they don't want to cover a med anymore and force him to find something else, all the while saying he needs to go through the step-up process & try a bunch of failed meds. 🤬
@joyfuldanni @Kidfears99 Have you tried running it through your pharmacy benefits instead of durable medical goods? It’s way less expensive!
