My health insurance company has decided that I, an insulin-dependent Type 1 diabetic, only need to test my blood sugar 5 times a day, down from the 6 they previously “allowed” Note to reader: if I only knew my blood sugar at 5 points throughout the day, I’d be dead.
@Kidfears99 My health insurance demands a prior authorization for my CGM every 6 months which my doctor sends over and they ignore till I'm almost out of supplies basically begging someone from my docs office to call them and demand they send it to the mecial supplier. It's degrading.
@Kidfears99 @joyfuldanni I hate this for you and working in a pharmacy I see the struggles. I keep sending that prior auth fax like crazy. Because it’s life or death. Insurance sucks to deal with.
@Kidfears99 @joyfuldanni I mean technically if you follow their testing allowance you eventually won’t need to refill your insulin prescription 😬
@Kidfears99 @joyfuldanni one of my favorite medications that I ultimately gave up required a letter be sent with extensive documentation every 90 days which was always denied causing me to go without until appealed. Now I just suffer and get terrible sleep from waking up to constantly pee. 🙃
@Kidfears99 @joyfuldanni oh mine does this with my taltz injections
