If we want to create a world where young people truly thrive, we have to move forward together. The challenges our youth face are complex, and they require us to step out of our separate corners, align our efforts, and embrace the power of community. While attending the #PerennialGathering, I had the pleasure of catching up with two incredible leaders who are driving real change across the continent: Zack Fowler from @AMPLIFY_Girls and @asha11al from the @ipfug. Meeting with Zack and Aisha was a wonderful opportunity to share our hearts, discuss our visions for youth development, and explore how our unique organisational strengths might complement each other in the future. By leaning into collaboration rather than working in isolation, we can build a much warmer, stronger, and more resilient support system for the next generation. Discussions on creating real opportunities for youth cannot be left to the sidelines. Today at the @reachahand headquarters, I was honoured to host the team from The @AfricaAmahoro and the @ipfug, as we talked about practical ways to improve everyday life and incomes for young refugees and host communities across Mbarara, Kasese, and West Nile. At the heart of our work is a commitment to ensuring that young people in refugee settings, alongside local youth, are truly empowered. Through our training programs and the @ikonawards Fellowship, we are helping young people build digital skills, prepare for employment, and even learn foreign languages. This language training gives them a strong advantage and better bargaining power when looking for jobs in local manufacturing companies. I am also incredibly proud of the Leesu initiatives, which focus on empowering young women and refugees. By teaching creative storytelling as well as hands-on skills like tailoring, basket weaving, and hairdressing, we are helping them build self-reliance, earn a dignified living, and support their families. By connecting these training programs with better financial access and market opportunities, we can ensure long-term stability and growth for refugees and host communities across Uganda. #RAHUAt15
