Ein wohlbekanntes Phänomen: Sobald sich herumspricht, dass ein Arzt ME/CFS, POTS oder MCAS behandelt, wird seine Praxis überrannt. Bei anderen Online-Listen was dies auch schon der Fall. Ein deutliches Zeichen für den gravierenden Mangel an adäquater Versorgung bei ME/CFS.

I just received a kindness that has me in tears. My pharmacist, who I have known since 2003, called out of the blue to check on me, worried about me. I have been too disabled to go to see her since the end of 2023. I have not had a single person IRL do this since I was infected. She was seriously concerned, talked to me about all of the people she sees with new POTS, Dysautonomia, tachycardia, arrhythmia, etc. We discussed the reality of there being no biomarkers for diagnosis and no approved treatments for #LongCovid. About how inflammation and persistence is driving this problem. She was frustrated about her lack of options to help. /1

I feel like physical suffering is often overlooked in chronic illness. There's more focus on the functioning. And yeah I'm mainly bedbound so my functioning isn't that good lol. But it's the level of physical suffering that can make this illness unbearable for me.

I’m a therapist. Clients come in with self diagnoses all the time. Their self dx is supposed to be an invitation to a discussion. A time to gather info in an unbiased manner from the patient You don’t live in their bodies. You actually need their input for a proper diagnosis

I'm not gonna lie, it is frustrating when you ask a patient what's wrong and they just give you a diagnosis. Like "I have a chest infection". OK, you're probably right but I need to know your symptoms to see if I agree with that diagnosis. I can't just take your word for it.

You know what’s actually overdiagnosed? Anxiety. Let’s talk about that, because without that label, doctors wouldn’t have a way to dismiss and control patients. It’s a modern-day hysteria diagnosis.
