RTA promised bike lanes on this stretch of Grant Road. It was repaved last year. Today, someone was killed there. RTA should explain why those bike lanes were never built. tucson.com/news/local/cri…

This is from a TEP filing on the Irvington Loop. It says a "1/4-mile clear area [is] required at the ground surface above the line." How does TEP propose to underground new lines in Tucson if this is actually a requirement?

@TimMcNicholas @SecritSqrl @CBSNewYork Appears that the cruiser slides into the intersection. Perhaps suggests the driver was going fast before braking hard. But lights do not start flashing until nearly stopped — were lights/siren off during a pursuit?

@ryolithica @Hispeedlowdrug Imagine a Venn diagram: circle 1 contains things the world needs, and circle 2 contains things the world will pay for. Mission-driven people often focus just on circle 1. Focus first on the overlap. Work from within that area to bring more of circle 1 into it.

Empty lots at El Con and Park Place are a perfect case study. El Con is the better location, but its least-used lot is zoned R-1. Park Place is (I believe) multifamily and mixed-use by right. Park Place doesn't require a zoning fight. Park Place is going to get housing first.

@KurtRexCooper Exactly — neighborhood opposition results in an expensive zoning fight. It is a powerful disincentive working against the creation of new housing.
