@DJRTistic I can’t imagine being at a house DJ set and being like I don’t know any of this rather than just dancing to how it makes me feel. I feel like the truth definition of vibing is gone
@DJRTistic My theory is that while it was always essential to play a lot of familiar/known songs at a club, I think moreso now post pandemic/separations bc when ppl DO go out, they want to hear “their song(s)” with their friends to sing along and wild out/dance. They need group familiarity.

One distinction I’ve been paying close attention to lately is “sing a long” (or rap a long) music, and “dance to the beat” music. There’s some genres and sub genres that fit on both sides, while some lean heavier on one side.
@DJRTistic I think a lot of folks want to be able to rap and yell the lyrics at their friends when they party...it's part of their concept of vibing.

The crowd at Coachella was the easiest I’ve had to DJ for in a while…just allll energy. It didn’t matter if they had never heard a song before, they were still hype. We def gotta run it back next year!
