We're livid. Rogue logging agency @FFMVic continue to exploit Dandenong Ranges NP for profit. We documented all hollow-bearing trees & gave FFMV the data so they'd protect them. Yet they keep felling habitat trees, including at least one with a mammal nest inside. This isn't fire management. This is akin to commercial logging. Nature in Victoria needs proper oversight now. Take Action > vnpa.org.au/action/ministe… FFMV promised: – Mitigation measures i.s. protection of canopy trees. – Protection of all hollow-bearing trees & nest sites. – No machinery disturbance where threatened plants/animals have been recorded. @kookcove They’re designed to sell (though that’s not hard with such a shortage). We tend not to notice (lack of) storage and we underestimate what we need, and being less cluttered makes them look larger I think.

@colourmeamused_ It’s years since I got up there I’m afraid. All good country, but I can’t think of an obvious highlight. The suburban peaks are underrated imo, e.g. Mt Taylor, Urambi, Tuggeranong, Big Monks Hill on the southside

@kookcove They did that to my eight year old last year, and she pinged positive. No idea why. They then did pointless things like X-ray her shoes. She handled it surprisingly well. They completely ignored my bulging rucksack, and waved her through eventually. Total farce

@BrentFord26 I had years of that. In my case they eventually found a hip impingement. It took just the right sort of X-ray to show it.
