@starakaj Adding AI into the mix hurts from both ends, in that only the rich will be able to pursue the arts once its no longer a viable source of income, and the increasing size of that gap will only push more people into soothing themselves by doing Highly Advanced Cocomellon via prompts

@matdryhurst @Merzmensch @hollyherndon After years of hearing the shock and rage of artists who discover that their hard work has been co-opted to train AI without their consent you now arrive with a dataset whose main selling point is that it requires no consent at all. It is more clearly legal but no less unethical.

@matdryhurst @Merzmensch @hollyherndon Do you seriously believe that people citing copyright against art being used in AI training are doing so because they’re volunteer hall monitors and just really love following rules, or is there perhaps a moral hazard here you’re absolutely desperate to ignore for some reason
